More about Red Squirrel
In Poland, where I was born red squirrels have dominated the area. Here is in the UK I remember my astonishment when I first encountered the grey version of this animal. Previous one I painted got sold immediately so this one is the only one available to buy at the moment from my website. Hurry up as I can`t guarantee it will stay long in my gallery.
I made this painting on top quality Saunders Waterford Paper (12″ x 16″) 300 gsm. I used a high grade professional Winsor and Newton paints which guarantee extra durability and colour protection, supplied with a signed certificate of provenance.
More about Red Squirrel from Wikipedia:
The red squirrel or Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is a species of tree squirrel in the genus Sciurus common throughout Eurasia. The red squirrel is an arboreal, omnivorous rodent.
In Great Britain, Italy and Ireland, numbers have decreased drastically in recent years. This decline is associated with the introduction by humans of the eastern grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis). They came from North America and habitat loss. Due to this, without conservation the species could be extirpated from Britain by 2030
